The Salem Fire - Tabernacle Of Holiness fixture was the one to be watched at Orchid Park Secondary School (Khatib)
With a James Kumar Chandran hat trick in addition to goals by Timothy Neo Zhong Kai and team captain, Raakesh Moganasundram, Errol Champion's side managed to take all three points from a 6-1 goalfest win against Tabernacle Of Holiness, which is officially recorded and marked as the most ever scored in the fixture.
Also, earning the Man of The Match award, James continues to be the top goalscorer in Salem Fire with 5 goals in 2 games, from one hat-trick against this afternoon's opponents and a double against SBJ United at Fuchun Secondary School (Marsiling) last week. Quite simply James is the best, but we never had any doubts about our golden boy.

Newly transferred in player, James Kumar Chandran, showed why he is the man in form at the moment as he found the net in the game against SBJ United for his first two goals of the season
James Kumar Chandran has reached two goals for the season. The two goals came against SBJ United on Sunday on a warm afternoon in Fuchun Secondary School (Marsiling) when he hit a powerful shot onto the underside of the crossbar and bounced into the back of the net to put the Fires ahead. This fresh yet experienced Salem Fire striker then scored another goal with an unstoppable left-footed shot which, in the right way, led Salem Fire to a secured top of the table finish. The Ex-Smyrna star, who is not afraid to cry and sweat for the cause, is going to have one of his best seasons on record. Salem Fire can now build towards the next match at Orchid Park Secondary School (Khatib) where it will be as warm as it was in Marsiling and they can certainly count on James to turn in another brilliant performance.

Michael scored twice, following a 2-0 win over All Saints
Salem Fire warmed up for their Adonai League in the best way possible, with a 2-0 win over All Saint at Meridian Junior College. Michael was the man-to-watch as the Ghanaian grabbed two goals.
All Saints briefly tried to bring themselves back into the game by taking quite a number of shots on goal but they were just not good enough to beat Shalih, despite him being not on form.
Nothing could take the gloss off a thoroughly professional performance to send the Fires off to prepare for the Adonai League in good heart.

Ball Possesion
Training in the rain for Salem Fire at Bishan Park as the squad went through ball possesion drills.
Late Fall weather at Bishan Park today as the temperature dropped to 77 degrees and the heavens opened for the Fires training session. The squad gathered at around three in the afternoon for a four-o-clock start, with Shalih and Arun working apart.
The rest of the team played a five-against-five ball possesion game of 30 minutes each way before spending another 30 minutes on the same game. Then a fitness drill of around 15 minutes was conducted before a shooting practise ended the session at around six.

Salem fire stars maintain that the draw against Eagles are fair
Here is what the Fires had to say after the game against Eagles:
IAN LOW JING WEN
'It wasn't hard to play against Eagles, but it took us some time to get into the game. Timothy was great and his goal was good for morale. After the draw, we could have even won if we had been a bit more lucid. I am happy that I played. I had my chance and some minutes on the pitch. I want to thank both coaches for putting me on. I want to demonstrate that I can do well and that I am motivated to help the team.
'It isn't easy to play with Salem Fire because we have many strong players and it's not easy to find space in the side. I must be ready when the coach calls upon me.
'It is a good draw. They went ahead luckily in the first half and they could have even get another score. We improved after the break and in the end the 1-1 seems fair to me.'
ARUN GOPINATHAN
'I am doing well. I twisted my ankle in the first half, but I didn't hurt myself. Everything is okay. In the first part of the game we weren't playing confidently, we lost too many balls or just kicked them into space. In the second half we were able to play with desire and confidence. The entire team improved in the second half and you could see a good Salem Fire.'

The Training Session & The Right Moment
The Fires had their training session in Bishan this afternoon at Bishan Park. Salmin, Joshua, Raakesh and Vijay were absent.
The session started with the squad divided in two for a tackling drill. The players then had some man-marking drill ending with a shooting practise. The party will prepare for Sunday's friendly tie against The Eagles. Match venue will be notified soon.
Taking a look at the injury situation: Khairul and Shalih just came on the injured list
Summing up the current situation with the injuries:
Khairul: He pulled a ligament in his knee last season. However, a few days ago the pain returned. He is in the hospital being warded. He is doing well. He is happy and so are we. We hope to see him on the field again within the next month or month and a half. Perhaps he will be ready for the this year's Adonai League, but if there is any risk then we prefer to wait.

Salem Fire welcome new coach Ho Kwang Hock with open arms.
It's official, Ho Kwang Hock joins the Fires ranks as the newest coach. Kwang Hock spoke after the news was official: 'This room is a place that is rich with victories. Now, I would like to raise some trophies to the sky and win with this team. I am very excited about this new adventure. The discussions were long and I hoped that it would work out, but I like to be certain before I get my heart set on anything. I am totally available for the team and Errol. I have been coaching a few teams and I hope can do really well with this team.'
The number of coaches just increased to two.

Athletic Work
The day's training session focused on athletic recovery work and tactical exercises for the Fires.
Errol Lyle Champion continues to work towards the psychophysical recovery of the entire team. This week's training had the same mild pace as last week's. The session started at three in the afternoon and Errol Lyle Champion divided the team up into two groups to work. It was jogging for both groups. Following this initial phase of athletic work, the team moved to the centre field where they worked on tactical exercises. One side included Shalih, Salmin, Isa, Azhar and some trial players. The other side was made-up of Joshua, Vijay, Arun and some trial players as well.
